Maybe a little older, a slightly different wardrobe or a look on her face that actually looks content in god knows how long. Other than that, she practically looks the same that she did months ago. Only problem is, however...]

...God, this is all weird. Out of the Ishiyama kids to throw into a video game, the non-gamer one is the one that gets chosen. Terrific. Sounds like something from a cliche kid's book...

[Yeah, she has no memory of being in Johto. Bummer.]

So am I supposed to just travel around and collect gym badges just like in the games and earn my ticket home? I read the Rule book and the Trainer Tips and it didn't say it was neither possible or impossible. [A beat.] Actually, I don't think it mentioned anything about badges at all. Has anyone gotten all badges and something amazing happen to them yet?

[Something seems to have caught the girl's attention when she looked down. She bends down and holds up a Cyndaquil in one of her hands while trying to hand the Pokegear in the other. The pokemon seemed confused and was even sniffing its trainer, much to Yumi's disgust.]

Also, any pointers on how to take care one of these...um, things? It spent the last five minutes just sniffing around and...not really giving much of a reaction-

[As if on cue, fire erupted from the Cyndaquil's back, frightening the girl.]

OH CRA--

[Yumi drops both the pokemon and the pokegear, ending the feed.]

[And this doesn't look like another one of those XANA-whatever-nonsense-things, either. Tenten's expression falls as she looks away for a second, then forces a quick smile.]

We're friends. Or we were, I guess. Sorry, I'm sure it must be weird. I'm Tenten.

[Yumi forces a smile as well.]

We could still be friends. I don't know if I'm still the Yumi you know but its still me. I guess

Ehehe...I think so; he used to belong to someone I trusted and respected, but he's gone now. It's an Emolga, but his name is Cathode!

(Sayaka didn't name him; his previous trainer did. She thinks about it for a moment and nods.)

Mm! It's possible, but the starting point for every trainer is New Bark Town. From there you decide on whether or not you wanna travel in Johto or go on the ferry like I did and come to Kanto. From there you start in Pallet Town.

Well, yes to collecting badges, but from what I remember, nothing happens when one gets all the badges.

[Cheria taps her chin in thought - then there's FIRE kgfjddjlk]

Yikes, careful! Cyndaquil don't really have full control over their fire yet! [If I remember right, my memory is so fuzzy still 8(]

[Thankfully Yumi didn't receive any burn marks from the Cyndaquil's flame but she may have a new budding fear of fire now.]

You'd think they would come with a warning label in case this happens... [Just a big fat 'BEWARE OF FIRE' tattooed all over their body.]

But collecting all the badges does nothing? Really?

...Maybe its all some kind of bad glitching? If we're in some kind of video game, that is.

I played it once when I was younger but never too into it. My kid brother occasionally plays it from time to time though.

Well yeah, that's the case for every Pokemon game. I think.

[She's forgetting another major detail, oops.]

Maybe they're keeping us here for something big.

Yeah, there are a lot of people who have been here for a while that have the badges and all it does is get them a ticket to a nice cruise.

[AJ can't help but chuckle. It seems that Yumi's met her pokemon. Applejack remembers having a similar reaction when she first arrived.

Though, the way she's talking, it doesn't seem like she remembers anything. It's a shame, but now there's an opportunity to make new memories. She'll just have to guide her back to where she used to be.]

You should probably try not t'startle a Cyndaquil like that, Sugarcube. They're real skittish fellas.

['I'd rather go home than go on some cruise' is what she would've said but she held it in as not to seem rude.]

That's a shame. [Who knows for those people but she wouldn't want to stay here forever.] What's the longest someone's been here?

[She's just been in a digital war herself. She does not need to go through another one.]

...Or maybe we're supposed to start some kind of new life here?

Maybe...they certainly make it easy to settle down. I've been here nearly a year myself. My companion likewise...if one discounts the month he disappeared back to his world.

You do have a point. If I was suddenly handled by some stranger, I'd be scared out of my mind too.

[Though little did Yumi know, her Cyndaquil was more angry than scared. Having a cute face hides that.]

Do they stay like this when they gro-- I mean, evolve?

So people do disappear out of the blue here...

[That was more of talking to herself than an actual response. Suddenly Sayaka's earlier comment didn't seem so strange.]

Is there any advantages to starting in either location or is it just the same either way?
