[She gives a sigh as she runs her hand through her hair. Explaining her world to Tenten would not only be complicated as fuck but if any of her friends found out, it'll probably mean she'll be kicked out for a good while.]

Let's say we have to keep our world under control and if any of us messes up for whatever reason then its game over for everyone.

[She frowns, but nods.]

Well... okay. I know you know what you're doing back home, so I won't pry. I guess I can understand that, which is why most people don't really form relationships within their own teams. Or they're not supposed to, anyway. Pretty sure there's something in the handbook about that.

Don't mention it to anyone, especially to anyone coming from my world. [Now she's just going to beat herself over the fact she just randomly told someone their secret.]

You haven't felt that way around your teammates before, have you?

[She flushes and stares to the side for a moment, turning the 'gear just enough to reveal the three 'mons she'd brought with her for protection -- a Gyarados, a Mienfoo, and of course, Feng the Skarmory.]

Lee and Neji...? Not... really. I mean, they're both pretty cute in their own way, but Lee is just... too intense. And Neji wouldn't have been interested.

I just never made time for something like that, I guess. Definitely didn't mean to get a stupid crush on the Rookie Genius, either.

[Yumi's not the type to blackmail someone but she'll take that deal.]

Lee and Neji huh? Did you happen to, y'know, name your pokemon after them or something? [Cause she definitely didn't do that, nope.]

I might be going too personal but what do you see in the guy? Like, what do you like about him?

[She turns the 'gear more fully to point at them. The Gyarados seems hellbent on trying to use Bounce on the Mienfoo, who just keeps dodging. Clearly they've gone over this before.]

Yeah. Lee's the Gyarados and Neji's the Mienfoo. They act a lot like their counterparts at home... well, Lee does. Neji is too friendly of a Pokémon to be exactly like him, but they look kind of alike.

Ah...

[A pause as she brings the 'gear back to herself, flushing again.]

Um... if I tell you, you have to promise never to tell anyone. Even if something happens and it all works out or something, okay?

Guess mine's not only ones acting like the people back home. [ She looks up to watch Jim giving Ulrich a scolding while the Oshawott was ignoring the Timburr. Yup, just like home.]

[Yumi pulled a serious look on her face, the same on she had earlier.]

Of course. Your secret's safe with me.

[She smiles at the sight of the other two -- something to ask about another time, maybe. For now, she shifts awkwardly and starts twirling a chopstick between her fingers in a nervous gesture.]

Well... You remember when Tsunade-sa-- When Tsunade made that broadcast, right? I spent pretty much that whole day after that riding and flying all around Johto making sure everyone was safe, getting things together. It was my birthday, too.

Tsunade is... was... my idol. I mean, I trained as a kunoichi wanting to be just like her for years, and then when she pulled something like that?

I don't know, maybe it was just because I hadn't slept in like, thirty hours or something, maybe it was the stress, but as soon as I got to where we were all meeting up, Sasuke was the one who was there to meet me. I must have looked pretty pathetic, but he didn't say anything bad. He just... hugged me. And let me know everything would be okay.

And then I cried on him and probably made a giant idiot of myself but you know. [She waves a dismissive hand, flushing darker.]

[Give her time to process something here.]

[That...that actually brought a smile to Yumi's face. Why? Because that was really heartwarming.]

It sounds like he can be a really sweet guy when the time calls for it.

[She waits kind of nervously, hoping Yumi isn't going to laugh at her -- she returns the smile with visible relief when she doesn't.]

Yeah, I guess. I mean, I'd have never thought it, but underneath that cool exterior he puts on all the time... He's really great.

[Wow this is getting sappy. Time to break that up.]

Plus when you add that to how cute he is and how talented of both a ninja and a trainer he is...

I wouldn't know how talented he specifically is but I can admit he is cute. [Not as cute as Ulrich, that is.]

Y'know, the more you talk about Sasuke, the more Ulrich sounds kind of similar to him. Makes me kind of curious of how they'll interact with each other.

They don't call him the Rookie Genius at home for nothing. He's the only one in our whole generation I think could ever come close to beating Lee or Neji.

[Just... not mentioning that Naruto beat Neji. That was a fluke. A good fluke! But still a fluke.]

I don't know, knowing Sasuke and meeting people? Sasuke would probably just look at him and maybe hum acknowledgment. I hope -- you said it was Ulrich? -- knows how to talk to people.

Only one huh? That does sound pretty impressive... are Lee and Neji that intense?

[She gives an awkward laugh because Ulrich interacting with people?]

He does....but he's not exactly social either. He was quite nasty to me and his roommate when we first meet but that was two years ago. I'm pretty sure he can talk to people but it won't be much either.

Yeah, they are. The best.

[Firm confidence in both of her teammates.]

Um... can I ask how you guys, uh. Figured out about how you liked each other? You don't have to say if you don't want to!

Well, normally I wouldn't but after that whole story, I think it'll only be fair if I give my contribution to the story.

[Only cause its you Tenten. Only cause its you.]

It wasn't exactly love at first sight like in all the fairy tales. It was after a while we first met each other when we got into this big stupid fight. He was getting really close with this one girl and, well, I got like crazy jealous over it. As much I want to talk about our fight, I'll just cut it short and say it was just one big mess.

[She looks to the side, blushing a bit.]

And then more crazy stuff happened. [A beat.] I was able to fall to my death right when he caught my hand in time. I wanted to apologize to him about my behavior towards him earlier but I think he knew it somewhere in his thick skull of his. Especially since we...

That's... I don't know, that sounds pretty great to me. Except the almost-dying part.

[More and more, she's getting curious about what it is Yumi does back home.]

I'm glad everything's worked out for you, that's... really good. And when you get home, he'll be waiting for you.

[Yumi'll tell you some other day Tenten, don't worry!]

He better be. If not, then he's going have to do something extravagant to make it up somehow haha... [She knows he'll be waiting though, as sappy as that sounds.]

I hope everything'll go ok between you and Sasuke too. You guys do look cute together.

Something extravagant, huh? Sounds nice.

[She flushes again and flips the chopstick into the air to catch it again.]

What, you really think so?

[Yumi was expecting that reaction from the girl.]

Yeah. But you didn't hear it from me.

...Of course not.

[She breaks into a wide smile, probably the first genuinely pleased one she's had in the better part of a month.]

Thanks, Yumi-san. Do you mind if I just call you Yumi?

[After all this, they've got to be friends now.]

Nah, it's alright. That's what everyone calls me after all.

[She knows about Japanese honorfics so its her way of acknowledging their friendship too.]

[She gives a thumbs up]
