There is no question. [Oh no, now this is logic on just difficult proportions, Shino.]
... But if you are asking whether I would like to attend... it would mean access to an area that has previously been off-limits, as well as the potential to encounter different Pokemon. Despite that, I will agree and say that it is too early. No doubt the event will attract others, including Team Rocket.
Well, back home they were more intense, because Gai-sensei is insane, but here I try to keep my pushups in the hundreds and only run for a couple miles. None of this 'walking around the village on my hands' crap.
[That stare turned into a nostalgic smile as she thinks up of all the memories she's had with her friends.]
Not necessary a "team" but we were our own group of friends. They were practically my only friends at the school I attended and we're been through so much for us to break apart- [A snap of fingers] -just like that. I had to make sure they don't do anything ridiculous and stupid but they always had my back when the time comes.
Sounds like you guys were really close, huh...? I'm sorry, I know it's hard to be away from home, but sometimes it's nice to talk about it, right? I mean, sure, I've got Sasuke, but Obito-kun isn't even part of my generation and Naruto-kun and Shino-kun are supposed to be younger than me.
[A sigh.]
Do you ever wonder if it'd be better off for us to go home, or for our friends to come here...?
[Close doesn't even begin to describe their friendship, Tenten, but she'll save that for later.]
So they came from different timelines? [Strange but if the Supercomputer was able to rewind time back home, it shouldn't be totally weird to the girl.]
Honestly? [She ponder for a bit, trying to think the answer through.] For me, I'd rather go home. I mean it would be nice if our friends would come with us on this crazy adventure...but I'm needed back home. I can't abandon everyone there for my own needs. [Leave them at the mercy of an evil computer program? Nope.]
I guess you could say that they're from my future, yeah. Shino-kun won't tell me anything about it, though.
[She tilts her head and thinks about it, letting out a small sigh.]
I think... I don't know. I mean, we're at war back home, the leader of our village was killed, one of my teammates is in intensive care and might have to give up being a ninja. If I could take everyone away from that and bring them here, I would. Even without ninjutsu, even with Team Rocket, I can't help but think we're a little better off. I mean, Sasuke and I wouldn't even be remotely as close as we are right now if we were back home, and I'd never have meet Joonhee-niisan, or you, or...
I haven't even been through as much as you did but I see where you're going. Sometimes I'd like to get away from everything and bring everyone I ever cared about with me to some different world too but... I just can't do that. [She's not feeling guilty for being partly responsible for everything that's happened back home, nope.]
I'm pretty sure more of your friends will come here over time though. Especially your teammates.
Maybe... so far we've only had one person from each team show up, except Naruto-kun and Sasuke. And Sasuke had been here for months before any of us showed up. I don't know...
[She shakes her head again and hugs the Riolu a little closer.]
Anyway, you said you went to school with all of your friends? What's that like? Nii-san told me a little bit about what school is like where he's from. ...Where are you from?
Just give it time. The people I've met when I came here said they've waited even years before someone they knew came here. [As much as she wants to avoid that.]
Well, I lived in France with my family but we originally came from Japan. We moved when I was a little girl.
As for school, it's a boarding school rather than a public school. All of my friends live there but I usually head home when it gets dark. If you want to know how the classes are, the teachers are strict and won't hesitate to call you out if you're messing around. I'm a fairly good student there and some of the teachers there kind of like me, especially the gym teacher.
I will be returning to the Training Centre shortly. [The catchy jingle of the Celadon department store can be heard in the background.] Is there anything else?
Mm, maybe... but France... Is that near Japan and Korea?
[She waves a hand, that's not as important.]
So you guys lived in the same place you went to school...? That must have been kind of fun, if you ever got to stay over. Or was it you lived outside the school, and the others stayed there...? I'm sorry, I don't think we have anything like that.
Oh haha, I wish. It's a thousands miles away from those countries.
Everyone but me who attended the school lived there. I lived not too far away from the school and there were no other schools in the area so principal there was willing to let me go there. [She gave a shrug.] It's really expensive to get a dorm there so you had to be practically rich to go there. Plus, they're pretty strict on curfew according to my friends.
Well, gym teachers teach gym. [A beat.] They're basically in charge of keeping us in shape and making sure we stay active. Jim, the gym teacher, is in charge of a lot of stuff back home, like being watchdog at night and the sports stuff like soccer and Pencak Silat.
[Yeah, normal school still seemed kind of foreign to her. Gym made sense, though, if she thought of it like training. Which meant that it's not all that accurate at all.]
Pencak Silat? Oh, wait, no, I know how these schools work! You were studying to become something, right?
Not really, no. We're studying basic knowledge to get us ready for those kinds of schools or something.
Some people take stuff like sports for fun or to be a professional at it.. Others might take martial arts like Pencak Silat for self-defense and a way to get into shape. [A beat.] Though its been a while since I've actually sparred with someone.
I want to! I've never been to one before, but it's basically like a giant party, right? A formal dancing party? And there'll be rare Pokémon to catch, too!
